Monster Hall Raceway opens rain-delayed 1999 Racing Season!

May 9, 1999; Unity, WI. - Heavy rains Friday night postponed MHRs Season opener to sunny, warm weather on Sunday.  Racers enjoyed good track conditions to put on nice show for a large group of spectators.  WOFM - WIZD Oldies radio station sponsored Sundays night of racing action. Scott Heiser was the lucky bike winner sponsored by area Hardees Restaurants.

Mark Stender held the early lead in the Super Stock feature with Dale Sonnentag battling close behind for the lead. The two tangled in lap 4, putting Stender to the back. Randy Spacek jumped quickly into the lead with Lonnie Leu closing in after a fifth row start. Leu grabbed the lead on lap 14, holding off Spacek for the win.

The Street Stocks got off to a good start in their 15 lap feature, putting in nine laps before a caution. Ralph Shultz held the lead for three laps, until the two number one cars of Curt Myers and Eric Olson positioned themselves out in front.  Myers put on a' good show, keeping Olson behind him to take the checkered flag.

In the Modified feature, Troy Kuyoth held the lead with Jerry Weigel and Jeff Spacek pulling on pressure by lap 8. Kuyoth left the track with mechanical problems in the 11th lap. Weigel battling to keep the lead from Spacek, got loose, spinning out in comer 4, and gave up the lead with a caution, Spacek looked strong, holding off Butch Oertel to take the feature win.

Next Friday night the races at Monster Hall Raceway will be sponsored by Enstrom Distributing
( Miller Beer ), with a full program of WISSOTA Modifieds, WISSOTA Super Stocks and WISSOTA Street Stocks.
