Kuyoth tops Modifieds at MHR on
Enstrom Distributing Night!

May 14, 1999; Unity, WI. - The bleachers were about as full as they could get on Friday night at MHR. Central Wisconsin definitely has the best and most devoted race fans anywhere!

Enstrom Distributing Inc. sponsored the Friday night show, with tons of tee-shirts, hats and Frisbee giveaways. Once again this year they held a "Quick Tire Change", where people test their skills and time at changing tires. Steve Jensen from Marshfield won a sharp looking "Rusty Wallace" mirror with the fastest time of 15.2 seconds. Jade Karl was this weeks' bike winner, sponsored by area Hardee Restaurants. Next weeks' sponsor will be Justice Bros. Distributing Co., Inc.
Starting in pole position in the Super Stock feature, Randy Spacek grabbed the early lead with Lonnie and Lance Leu both closing in, With his fine tuned #14 machine. Lonnie made a nice move passing Spacek six laps later. Running a good and solid race, the leaders' moved into lap traffic, until a caution came out in the 13th lap. Lonnies brother, Lance - looking strong this year powered past Spacek for 2nd while Paul Lieders, who had a seventh row start moved into third.
Kori Richters first appearance at MHR in the Super Stock division positioned himself behind Lieders in the 17th lap. Taking the checkered for a two-for-two Feature win was Lonnie, Lance in second, Lieder, third Richter 4th and Spacek in 5th.

In the Street Stock Feature, Steven Zurek held the lead with Ryan Lindner close behind. Linder getting a little anxious to pass Zurek went high on the outside, losing control and banging the front fender on Zurek's car. With a yellow flag thrown, Lindner was put to the back. Kevin Adams, with a 4th row start moved up quickly passing Steven Surprenant, Mike Paul and Bob LaBlonde and set his sights on Zurek in the fourth lap.
Kevin Bogdanovic moved into 3rd and Todd Lindner who had a good starting position until getting bumped into another car on the first lap, causing his car to go into low gear, only until the full field passed him going back into high gear steadily made his way through traffic gaining on the leaders.
Keeping the lead Zurek with Adams entered into lap traffic two laps later. An unidentified car moved too high to let the leaders by, got loose, avoiding the walls and barreled out the exit ramp, heading straight for Troy Kuyoths parked rig in the pits. Luckily nobody was in the way and the drvier managed to get his vehicle stopped before any damage was done.
With the restart, Adams passed Zurek for the lead, when Zurek's #72Z car blew a head gasket. Adams grabbed the Feature win, Bogdanovic 2nd, Zurek running on six cylinders and a broken right front shock took 3rd, Todd Lindner 4th and Bob LeBlonde in 5th.
Roger Andres had the early lead in the Modified feature. #44 Jack Larson made a quick pass in third on the 3rd lap, becoming the leader for 9 straight laps. Steve Isenberg and Jerry Weigel pulled into third and fourth.

In the sixth lap Troy Kuyoth with a dead last start after blowing the rear end gears' in his heat race, has a fine pit crew who had his #80 car humming for this feature and was burning up the race track to his many fans delight. Moving into 4th by the seventh lap. Kuyoth pulled into in the second spot in the next lap and put the pressure on Larson for the lead, shooting out in front, passing Larson in the thirteenth lap, Troy never looked back. Taking an amazing Feature win was Kuyoth, Larson 2nd, Isenberg 3rd. Weigel 4th and Butch Oertel in 5th.
