Kuyoth wins second straight Modified main at MHR!

May 21, 1999; Unity, WI. - Friday night races at MHR Raceway were sponsored by Justice Bros. Next weeks races sponsor will be presented by Coca-Cola Bottling Co. McCoy Soppa was this weeks bike winner sponsored by area Hardees.

In Super Stock feature action polesitter #57 Paul Lieders grabbed the early lead with Mark Stender close behind. Randy Spacek put continuous pressure on Stender, overtaking the second spot 7 laps later. Lonnie Leu trying to keep his winning streak alive with a fourth row start, was struck with engine failure in the 3rd lap and was forced to head for the pits, ending his night of racing action. Lieders held off Spacek to take his first Feature win this year, Spacek 2nd, Stender 3rd, Mike Bauer 4th and Paul Erikson 5th.

The Street Stock feature saw Dave Teatz  holding the lead for laps one and two. Mike Paul then grabbed the lead from Teatz, holding Kerin Adams and Rod Herman off for two more laps. Adams and Herman both put pressure on Paul passing him in the fifth lap. With a fourth row start, Kevin Bogdanovic moved in behind Herman and passed him in the next lap. Taking the checkered flag was Adams, his second feature win in a row. Bogdanovic 2nd; Herman 3rd; Teatz 4th and Paul in 5th.

The Modified feature saw last weeks feature winner, #80 Troy Ktryoth was the man in control, taking advantage of a front row start and never letting up. Butch Oertet lost a tire in the second lap and was unable to continue the race.

#43 Luke Schilling, looking strong this year, moved into second in lap two. Jerry Weigel and Scott Duval followed in third and fourth. Making his first appearance at MHR this season, after his terrible crash a couple weeks ago - #99 Karl Fenske was right on track, moving up steadily. Kuyoth took his second win in a row, Schilling 2nd, Weigel 3rd, Karl 4th and Duval 5th.
