Kuyoth back in the winners circle in
MHR Modified action!

June 25, 1999; Unity, WI. - Warm, sunny weather had fans filling the bleachers for Friday nights CarQuest and Race Against Drugs night at MHR. A special half hour intermission had all of the drivers parking their cars on the race track and signing autographs for hundreds of thrilled kids. Color contest winners from three age groups wore each awarded with prizes. Mid-Season Championship races will be held next Friday night -sponsored by S&S Distributing.

The Super Stocks had a rough time getting their feature race moving along Friday night. After four cautions, with only one lap completed, things shaped up as they held another non-stop race to the end. Paul Lieders was in the lead, followed by Mark Stender and Lonnie Leu. Leu passed Stender, four laps later and then Leu set his sights on Lieders. Moving through lapped traffic, Lieders held a strong lead to take the win. Leu 2nd, Paul Erikson 3rd, Stender 4th and Randy Spacek in 5th.

With pole position, Ryan Lindner grabbed the early lead in the Street Stock Feature. Steven Zurek and Larry Dassow followed. With a caution called after four laps were completed Todd Lindner took advantage of the restart, passing Zurek for second. With a fifth row start, Kevin Adams and Kevin Bogdanovic with a fourth row start were both moving their way through traffic, positioning themselves behind Lindner in third and fourth.
With three laps left, getting loose and spinning out, Ryan Lindner gave up the lead on a caution. Adams wasted no time jumping into the lead on the restart and grabbed the checkered flag for the win. Todd Lindner was second, Bogdanovic claimed third, Zurek 4th and Steven Surprenant 5th.
With only one safety caution called, due to debris on the track at the start of the Modified Feature, a fast, twenty lap race was held. Troy Kuyoth, Marty Schwantes and Kevin Rogers held the top three positions. Jeff Spacek passed Rogers for third in the tenth lap, after a fifth row start.

A popular return! Dale Sonnentag (#3s) made a return to MHR after four weeks off due to an illness. He had won his first Super Stock feature on May 28th of this year. Fans, friends and family cheered his return this evening |
Running into lapped traffic, all drivers did a great job, running a smooth and steady race. Leading from start to finish, taking the win was Kuyoth, Schwantes was in the runner-up position, Spacek settled for third, Rogers 4th and Rick Przybylski 5th.
