Paul Lieders, Rich Bishop, Scott Johnson, Paul Erikson and Lance Leu controlled the top five positions throughout a caution filled WISSOTA Super Stock Feature Friday night at MHR. With eight cautions in just twelve completed laps, the race was shortened to a fourteen lap event. Lieders held his ground at each restart, as he was challenged over and over by Bishop and Johnson, to take the Mid Season Championship win, Bishop second, Johnson third, Erikson fourth and Leu in
fourth.

Celebrating strong performances in the Mid-Season championships here at MHR are the top three finishers from the WISSOTA Street Stock division.  Shown from right to left are, Kevin Adams, current point leader and Mid-Season championship winner, Rod Herman who finished second in the main and Kirk Bogdanovic who claimed third. 63000c.jpg (14035 bytes)

Making up for lost time the WISSOTA Street Stocks ran a fast paced fifteen lap feature as Kevin Adams grabbed a strong lead followed by last weeks feature winner, Rod Herman and Kirk Bogdanovic.  Chris Oertel left the track in the first lap with transmission problems, Chris Lindner
exited in the third lap, and Ken Heser was forced to end his night early, losing a tire in the fifth lap.
Becoming well known for his last lap pass attempts, Brent Mindock gained ground on Bogdanovic and Herman as the three raced for the checkered flag in a tight group.   Adams flew by for the Mid Season Championship win, Bogdanovic and Herman held their positions for second and third, Mindock fourth and Dave Teatz in fifth.

The top three WISSOTA Mod finishers were (from right) Jeff Spacek first, Troy Kuyoth second, and Luke Schilling third.

Jeff Spacek made a fast pass in the first lap of the WISSOTA Modified feature for the lead, followed by Luke Schilling, Scott Duval, Lance Burt and Troy Kuyoth.  Kuyoth moved into fourth in the third lap.  Jerry Weigel left the track under a caution in the seventh lap with mechanical failure. Roger Andres drifted high in the backstretch, hitting the wall hard in lap eleven.

Car failure in lap thirteen, resulted in Steve Isenberg making contact with Lance Burt in the front stretch. With no where to go, Burt slammed backwards, hard into the wall. Kuyoth used the restart to his advantage, passing Duval for third and began to put the heat on Schilling, passing for second with four laps remaining.  Spacek held on to the lead for the Mid Season Championship win, Kuyoth second, Schilling third, Duval fourth and Jack Larson in fifth.

Lance Bert (#151) had not planned on this ending during WISSOTA Modified feature action.  Burt was unhurt in this incident but it ended his evening. 63000d.jpg (11790 bytes)

Craig Lieders held the early lead in the A-Mod Feature, followed by Mickey Nosser, Rob Genett
and Scott Anderson.  Genett left the track after one lap with smoke pouring from his car.  In the third lap Lieders drifted high as he rounded corner four, leaving a wide open gap for Nosser to take the lead. Scott Anderson pressured Lieders for second throughout the remaining laps.  Nosser cruised past the checkered flag for the Mid Season Championship win, Lieders second and Scott
Anderson throwing sparks as he brushed the front wall, racing hard for the pass finished in  third.

63000e.jpg (14947 bytes) Dale "The Duck" Sonnentag's (#3s) illness never allowed him to race this brand new car during the 2000 season.  A special tribute was held at the track in remembrance of his life and love for racing.
