Polesetter, Mark Stender set the pace in the WISSOTA Super Stock Feature Friday night. With two laps complete, a blown engine ended his night of racing early.   Scott Johnson then took over
the lead with Jim Willner, Eric Bolosky, Paul Erikson and Paul Lieders behind.  A caution in the seventh lap was held when Lonnie Leu's car was struck with mechanical failure.

Lieders, who had moved up quickly before the caution, was positioned behind Johnson for the restart.  Johnson was unable to find a comfort zone as Lieders pressured him continously for the lead as they made their way around the track each lap.   Using the inside groove in corner three, Lieders edged out Johnson to take over thelead with five laps remaining.  A spinout in the backfield brought out the final caution of the race with just two laps remaining, setting the stage for a fast dash to the finish line.  Lieders grabbed the hard fought feature win, Johnson second, Willner third, Erikson fourth and Randy Spacek in fifth.

For the second time this season Rod Herman (#71) made his way to the winner's circle at MHR after the feature event.  Herman held off stiff competition for his second feature checkered of the 2000 season. 8400b.jpg (10780 bytes)

One lap was all Rod Herman needed to move into the lead in the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature.  An exciting race was held, despite numerous cautions held throughout the fifteen lap event. Side by side fifth row starters, Kevin Adams and Kirk Bogdanovic battled for positions as they made their way through traffic.  Bogdanovic settled into second and Adams in third after six laps were complete.
Dave Teatz fought off pressure from Dennis Squires as they see-sawed back and forth in the fourth
and fifth positions.  A caution in the eighth lap tightened up the pack for the restart.

Herman held his ground against bumper to bumper pressure from Bogdanovic and Adams, when Bogdanovic was struck with a flat tire in lap twelve, ending his evening of racing after a strong run. Herman was then left to contend with the current track points leader Adams as they raced hard in the final four laps to the finish line.  In back, Teatz won the battle against Squires for third and Brent Mindock manuevered his way past Squires, settling in behind Teatz.  Herman did a great job, as he held off   Adams to take his second feature win of the season, Adams second, Mindock made a quick last lap move for third, Teatz fourth and Squires in fifth.

8400e.jpg (17024 bytes) Padding the point lead!  Scott Duval (#17) not only lead the field for a feature win on Friday Night in WISSOTA Modified action, but he also added to his point lead as he seeks the 2000 track title.

The WISSOTA Modifieds ran a strong feature race after two cautions stalled the beginning of
the race before a lap was completed.  In the lead, Luke Schilling was followed by Steve Isenberg, Scott Duval, Butch Oertel and Dan Konrardy.  In lap two, Duval moved past Isenberg for second and overtook the lead from Schilling in the third lap.  With a tenth position start, Jeff Spacek gained ground as he made his way through traffic to settle in behind Schilling for third after six laps were completed.  Steve Kuester followed the same route behind Spacek, landing the fifth position in lap
eleven, only to be struck by mechanical failure in the next lap ending his night of racing. As Duval
motored his way around the track with a strong lead, Schilling was kept busy fighting off Spacek for his  second position.

Jack Larson moved past Oertel securing the fifth position before a caution was held in the
next lap when Lance Burt, Gary Baxter and Jerry Weigel got tangled up in a chain reaction crash.  With two laps remaining, Duval cruised past the checkered flag for the win, Schilling second, Spacek third, Isenberg fourth and Larson in fifth.

The competition grows!  Rob Genett (#16) collected the checkered flag in the A-Mod main event.  The division continues to grow in popularity as the season progresses. 8400d.jpg (11419 bytes)

Tim Miller held the lead in the A-Mod feature for two laps before bringing out a caution and
tagging on to the back of the field.  Rob Genett took over the lead followed closely by Scott Anderson. Luke Lobacz moved past Shane Halopka for third in the seventh lap, only to
leave the track in the next lap, ending his night of racing.  Anderson continued to pressure Genett for the lead, using the high groove in the backstretch, in each lap Genett was able to overpower him as they raced into corner three and four with Genett holding on to take the feature win, Anderson second, Miller moving up into third, Halopka fourth and Lieders in fifth.
