After
just missing a win in WISSOTA Super Stock action last week Rich Bishop (#10)
prevailed this evening. |
Rich Bishop lost the lead to last weeks feature winner, Randy Spacek
after four laps were completed in the WISSOTA Super Stock feature Friday night at
MHR. Mark Stender, Terry Gorstand Lonnie Leu followed directly behind. Gorst
was unable to hold off pressure from Leu, Paul Lieders and Lance Leu, as he dropped back
behind after eight laps of completion.
A caution in the eighth lap was called when Jim Willner drifted high into
the back wall, ending his night of racing. Up front, Spacek was unable to put any distance
between himself and Bishop. Using the inside groove, Bishop regained the lead from Spacek
as they rounded corner one in the thirteenth lap. A caution in the fifteenth lap,
tightened up the pack. Paul Lieders and Lance Leu used the restart to their
advantage, moving past Lonnie. A fast five laps to the finish was held, as Bishop
grabbed his first feature win of the season at MHR, Spacek second, Stender third,
Lieders fourth and Lance fifth.
| Current WISSOTA Street Stock point
leader Kevin Adams (#40) is looking to repeat as track champion in the division.
Tonight he recorded another feature win, which will help him meet that challenge. |
 |
Kevin Adams held the lead in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature,
followed by Brent Mindock, Rod Herman and Kirk Bogdanovic. Great racing action was
held as only one caution came out throughout the fifteen laps. Bogdanovic edged past
Herman in lap three, but Herman fought back hard, making a low dive under Bogdanovic three
laps later in corner one, regaining third.
A tire from Jason Kellner #77 car bounced down the backstretch after ten
laps were completed, bringing out the single caution of the race. Moving into fifth
in the seventh lap, Chris Oertel left the track under the caution with smoke coming from
underneath the hood of his car. Adams held the lead for his fourth feature win of
the season, Mindock second, Herman third, Bogdanovic fourth
and Chris Linder in fifth.
 |
Steve Kuester (#31) was all
smiles as he pulled of a feature win in WISSOTA Modified action. Kuester drove a
flawless race to score his first victory of the season. |
Steve Kuester set the pace in the WISSOTA Modified feature, followed
by Jeff Spacek, Scott Duval, Butch Oertel and Dan Konrardy. Kuester and Spacek put
on an exciting show as they raced nearly side by side for six straight laps. Spacek
got turned around in a spin in the seventh lap,
bringing out a caution and was waved to the back. Steve Isenberg and Tim Hintz, both
with a fifth
row start had moved into fourth and fifth. A caution in the eleventh lap was held
when Jerry Weigel
tagged the right rear corner of Konrardy's car, putting Weigel to the back after running
in eighth.
With four laps remaining, Isenberg moved past Oertel for third. Luke
Schilling weaved his way
through traffic, after a seventh row start, moving past Hintz with two laps remaining.
Kuester fought
off the advances of Duval to take his first feature win of the season at MHR, Duval
second, Isenberg
third, Oertel fourth, Schilling fifth and a strong comeback by Spacek, finishing in sixth.

Rob Genett (#16) recorded
his first career A-Modified feature victory last week and had the honor of carrying the
American Flag during opening ceremonies tonight. |
In the ten lap A-Mod Feature, Craig Lieders and Rob Genett had the
whole track to themselves after Jeff Wilczek left track with two laps completed. Scott
Anderson was unable to start after hitting the wall hard earlier in his heat race. A
close race was held until Genett nearly lost control
in corner four, giving Lieders time to gain a half lap advantage for the win.
