Monster Hall Raceway opens 2001
season of action!! April 27, 2001; Unity, WI. - The 2001 Monster Hall racing season got underway on a beautiful summerlike evening last Friday night. The event was sponsored by Pollnow's Racing Connection. A total of 66 entrants in five different classes provided some fast-paced action for a huge opening night crowd.
Randy Spacek set the pace in the Super Stock feature. He bested Scott Johnson who took second place, and Mike Bauer who finished third. In the Modified feature, former track champion Troy Kuyoth took the checkered flag. He was followed by Tyler Keyser and Butch Oertel. Kevin Adams claimed the honors in the Street Stock feature. Dave Teatz nudged out Brent Mindock for second placer. Louis Plaskey took the feature event in the exciting new Cruisers feature, while the A-Modified feature race was claimed by Pat Zdroik. Action ran later into the night as mechanical problems plagued a number of the cars. Racing action was halted nearly an hour after an accident in one of the heats sent the driver to the hospital for observation after treatment by Colby EM's personnel. The driver walked to the ambulance under his own power and the crowd applauded heartily. Racing action at Monster Hall Raceway continues throughout the summer on Friday evenings. The high banked third mile clay oval features the best in dirt track racing action.
