Spacek Strikes in Mod action at
MHR, Lance Leu capture Super Stock victory!
By Chris Burback
June 29, 2001; Unity, WI. - Monster Hall Raceway hosted
another regular weekly race program on Friday, June 29 sponsored by Car Quest auto parts.
Lance Leu launched from the seventh starting slot of the WISSOTA
Super
Stock feature field to the lead four laps into the race and never looked back.
Thirteenth Super Stock starter Kevin Adams set sail and sped to the front,
finishing second when the checkered flag flew.
Scott Johnson took third ahead of Duane Dunbar and Jim Willner.
Open wheeled WISSOTA Modified pilot Jeff Spacek scored the feature win
Friday night. Spacek overtook polesitter Scott Duval three laps into the race and held off
race long challenges by Troy Kuyoth for the win. Kuyoth crossed the stripe second ahead of
Duval, Luke Schilling and Jed Moore.
WISSOTA Street Stock national championship contender Kevin Adams scored
another sweep to add to his 2001 point total. Adams outran Brent Mindock for the feature
win. Dave Teatz took third ahead of James Bandow and James Gehrig.
The A-Mod division found somewhat of a new face for victory lane in Mickey
Nosser. Afer a steller 2000 season, Nosser has not frequented the winner's circle too
often this year, but he got back on track Friday and broke Scott Anderson's win streak.
Shane Halopka overtook Bill Purdy near lap 13 and was scored in second at the conclusion
of the feature. Purdy was third ahead of Duane Geboy and Rob Genett.
In the Cruiser division, Steve Bangart blasted to the feature win after
leading all but a single lap. The duo of Zach Kauth and Eric Dietsche dashed to second
followed by the team of Scott Davis and Joe Fitzgerald. Jamie Kilty and Darren Geiger got
fourth and the team of Josh Luepke and Adam Winer rounded out the top five finishers.
