August 24, 2001; Unity, WI. - It was a great night of racing at Monster Hall Raceway with the season championships presented by Mitchell Promotions and Budweiser S & S Distributing on Friday.

Five classes of racing action included the WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Street Stocks as well as the Affordable Modifieds and the one and two man Cruisers.

The night's features were lined up by final point standings and the WISSOTA Modifieds were the highlight of the evening with 24 cars starting in the feature event. The "Whiskey Digger," Tyler Keyser, started on the point with the defending track champion, Scott Duval, next to him. After two cautions on the first lap, the race finally got underway with Keyser at the helm. Keyser remained in control for the majority of the race before Jeff Spacek took the lead with only a few laps left.

Spacek went on to win the race and was crowned season champion. Keyser crossed the finish line second but remained the point champion followed by Scott Duval, Steve Isenberg and Robby Bunkelman.

Lance Leu won the WISSOTA Super Stock point championship and was rewarded with a pole position starting slot for the feature. At the drop of the green Leu was challenged immediatedly by Kevin Adams, who took the lead from him and went unchallenged through the majority of the race.

The battle for the next four positions was a heated one with Scott Johnson, Lance Leu, Terry Gorst and Randy Spacek involved. The four shuffled positions all throughout the 20 lap race and it made for a great finish. At the checkered Adams claimed the winner's trophy followed by Lance Leu, Johnson,  Spacek and Gorst.

The WISSOTA Street Stock feature was a very intense race between national point contender Kevin Adams and Brent Mindock. Adams jumped out to an early lead, and for the majority of the race was untouched until Brent Mindock challenged for the lead. Mindock used the outside down back chute, then ducked inside Adams in turn three to get around him to cross the finish line first. Mindock then headed to the Budweiser winner's circle to claim his season championship trophy.

The Affordable Modifieds put on a great show for the fans at Monster Hall Raceway with point champion Scott Anderson and  Rob Gennett on the front row. Genett got the holeshot going into turn one and held the lead over the point champ until Anderson found his groove. Anderson retook the lead and crossed the finish line first ahead of Genett, Mark May, Duane Geboy, Shane Halopka, Bill Purdy.

The Cruiser class bumped and grinded their way around the track and put on a great show for the fans with both two person and single Cruisers running together.

Only three nights of racing are left at Monster Hall Raceway for the 2001 season. On August 31, a trip will be given away to a lucky fan in attendance, and the 2nd Annual Dale Sonnentag Memorial race weekend is on September 7 and 8.
