Seehafer Collect More Checkereds at Monster Hall!
By Ben Brost
July 19, 2002; Unity, WI. - A great night of racing
prevailed on Friday night at Monster Hall Raceway with 6 classes of non-stop racing action
presented by Auto Value Bumper to Bumper, WDLB FM, along with WOSQ 92.3FM, 96.7 WYTE, and
WLJY Lite FM 106.5.
The Midwest Mods came out of the gate first with #01 Al
Seehafer in the hunt, along with #27 Scott Anderson, and #34 Mickey Nosser back out on the
high banks. Seehafer and Nosser jumped out front of the pack to do battle along with
Anderson in third. #3JR Shane Halopka tried to work his way up the field, but the
frontrunners were too much for him, as they were ahead 7 car lengths, and gaining on the
field after the halfway point. Seehafer proved to be the best once again, and drove away
with the win once again at Monster Hall Raceway.
Next out were the Street Stocks, with hard charging #51 Chris Oertel up front, along with
veteran #33 Mike Paul in the hunt as well. Mechanical trouble struck the Oertel machine,
leaving the field wide open for an impressive #17x Joe Bablick to take over the lead for a
period of time. Paul who had his sights set on the frontrunners spot the entire time,
worked the low line like no other, getting around Bablick coming out of corner 4, and
taking his red #33 to the Budweiser winners circle.
The Super Stocks saw a huge scare when #75 Scott Geiger took his machine up into the front
stretch retaining fence, taking out a couple of poles and bringing red flag conditions to
the track. The officials worked tirelessly getting the track back to racing conditions,
allowing for the field to get back up to speed. #40 Kevin Adams came back to continue
building onto his record of feature wins at Monster Hall Raceway, taking home number 62 on
Friday night.
The Modifieds came back onto the track, with #22 Jeff Spacek out front. A master of the
black track, Spacek knew how to drive his machine on the high banks, with high flying #33
Jed Moore charging up to the front. Jed worked his way up to second, when the yellow flag
flew, bringing the cars back together. Spacek went back out to the lead, proving to be too
much for the rest of the field, taking home his 7th feature win this season, followed by
Moore in second.
The Late Models came out next, and saw "The Navarino Nightmare" Terry Anvelink
in his #32 Machine out front, with his son Nick in #15 behind him running in second. #80
Troy Kuyoth started in 5th, and worked his way around #00 Robby Bunkelman on the inside of
corner number 2, getting his black machine in line to march to the front, but to no avail,
as the Anvelink duo proved to be once again too much for the rest of the field, with Terry
taking home the win.
This Friday night is sponsored by Jack's Time Out, and Progressive Travel, so be sure to
come out and join the action every Friday night at Monster Hall Raceway!!!
