Topping the 2-Man Cruiser action tonight were the team of James Kilty and Darin Geiger.

The Midwest Mods strapped themselves in to do battle first, with the 2001 Track Champion Scott Anderson the favorite to win. After he took off to an early lead, the pair from Medford, the #3JR of Shane Halopka, and the #4 of Jim Poyda began the chase of the #27 of Anderson. On lap 7, with 5 cars left on the track, caution flew, which brought the cars back together, giving Poyda and Halopka the break that they needed.

The pair from Medford hung right behind Anderson, when on lap 14, Poyda, in a brilliant move, dove to the inside of Anderson, edging him out for the lead spot. Halopka tried to do the same, but to no avail. Poyda was able to fend off one last charge from Anderson, and, in great fashion, crossed the finish line first to collect his first ever feature win in his Midwest Modified, with Anderson coming in second, and Halopka coming in 3rd.

The street stocks were next up to show their stuff, with the #36 of Dave Teatz, and the #51 of Chris Oertel showing the way. As those two were side by side leading the pack, many other cars were trying to get in that battle, including that of the #33 of Mike Paul, #7 Chris Crasper, and Street Stock rookie #29 Zack Kauth exchanging positions all throughout the event, trying to get into the top 5. On lap 9, the #33 of Mike Paul, in an amazing move, went to the very inside of the track, and tried to split the #29 of Kauth and the #7 of Chris Crasper making it 3 wide, to break into the top 5. He succeeded, but could not hold off the charge of the Crasper machine, who capped out the top five.

The most exciting battle was for the lead, with the veteran #36 Dave Teatz and the young gun #51 of Chris Oertel battling it out. With the driving ability that only years of experience could bring, the Teatz machine went to the outside, grabbing bite out of corner 2, and edged over Oertel heading into three and four. Staying in the outside groove, defending one last move from Oertel, Teatz crossed the line first, and piloted his #36 into the Budweiser Winners Circle for his first feature win of the season.

Yet another exciting show was in store for the fans at Monster Hall Raceway, with the Super Stocks wheeling their machines onto the track. Holding the 2001 Monster Hall Raceway Super Stock Track Champion, and the feature winner opening night, #14L Lance Leu tried to continue on his perfect record by jumping out to a straightaway lead early on in the feature, with #27 Mark Stender in second, and #77 Jim Willner in third.

With excitement all over the track, the #57 of Paul Leaders, #23 Terry Kroening, and #10t of Larry Jackson were side - by - side on lap 4, when Jackson and Kroening got together in the apex of one and two, bringing out the caution. With Leu still way out front, he left the action behind him, but the #22 of Randy Spacek and #27 Mark Stender gaining on the 14L. On the white flag lap, mechanical trouble struck the Leu Machine, causing him to finish second, with the #22 of taking home the win.

The Mods came with thunder and brought the heat, with the #51 of Butch Oertel on the point, trying to add another feature win to his illustrious career. Oertel jumped out to a lead, with #17 Scott Duval charging through the pack trying to get up front. But, the story of the night was the black and purple #40 of Paul Knauf waiting in the wings of the leaders.

Trouble struck the Duval machine, along with the #151 of Tyler Keyser, which allowed the Knauf machine to capitalize on the positions open, and overtake the lead, never looking back. After battling from mid pack, the #40 of Paul Knauf was able to take home his first ever feature win at Monster Hall Raceway.

The Late Models saw the #81 of Troy Springborn, #80 of Troy Kuyoth, and #7k Tyler Keyser battling back and forth from the start. The #15 of Nick Anvelink tried to get into the battle as well, along with the #9 of Tom Naeyaert. Kuyoth jumped out to his lead, never looking back, leaving single file racing the rest of the way home, leaving the Seubert Calf Ranches #80 taking home the win.

Friday nights races just proved to be even more exciting than the night previous, raising the bar for all of the nights to come. Be sure to come and join us each and every Friday night at Monster Hall Raceway!
