Schilling Striks Gold in MHR Mod Main!!

June 20, 2003; Unity, WI. - It was Hardee's and Dr. Pepper night here at MHR with all five events.

The Midwest Modifieds came out for their feature event with #42 Paul Niznik on poll and #24 Randy Bangender on the outside. Niznik took the lead with #7 Duane Dunbar close by his side.

Mike Paul (#33) puts another feature win in the record books in WISSOTA Street Stock action.

Leaving #3jr Shane Halopka and Bargender Battling for 3rd postion and Halopka moved ahead taking the postion. #44 Jack Larson caught up with Halopka and fought for 3rd for the remainder of the race. #27 Scott Anderson closed the gap between 4th and 5th caght up with Larson. Niznik took a strong lead which won him the race.

The Street Stock came on the track #5 Roger Walker on poll and #172 Ryan Lindner on the outside. The race started off with a colistion of cars involving #02 Jason Forehand, #23 Mike Warga, #15 Steve Bangart, and #08 Jim Uptagraw. Forehand was the only one able to return to the race. On the restart Walker took the lead and Forehand and R. Lindner battled for 3rd with Forehand pulling ahead.

By lap ten Walker and #33 Mike Pual were headed into lap traffic. Caution came out on #7x. On the restart Pual trys to jump Walker and Walker holds it. They battle for two laps and cominginto turn four a caution called on Walker sends him to the back and led Pual to win the feature.

The Super Stocks were the 3rd event on the track with #14L Lance Leu on poll with #2 Jamie Strebig on the outside. On the start #77 Bill Schwantes and #23 Terry Korening got into the wall along with #63 Ron Sischo and #11 Brian Rau. On the restart #4 Paul Erickson and #8m Mike Duhr battled for 5th and Erickson shot up to 4th passing up #44 Adam Hensel.

Erickson is on a roll battling for 3rd but then he spun out on lap four. On the restart Leu, #22 Randy Spacek, and #40 Kevin Adams pull away from the rest of the pack. #57 Paul Lieders moved from the back all the way up to 4th. Caution on Adams he was put in the back and he was able to move up to 5th with in four laps. Spacek won the race.

The Modified feature was next #35 Andrew Baxter with #24H Darren Hazelton on the outside. A. Baxter and Hazelton battle for 1st A. Baxter pulls ahead. Caution on #70 Mike Williams along with #22B Mark Baxter, #24 Kevin Rogers, and #95 Kent Baxter. On the restart Hazelton pulls ahead in the lead as #7 Wayne Engen and #43 Luke Schilling battle for 4th with Schilling pull ahead all the way to 2nd.

Caution called on #33 jed Moore on lap five. On the restart #22 Jeff Spacek jumps #35B David Baxter for 4th. Schilling shots way ahead in 1st. Engen, D. Baxter, and #16 Rob Genett fight for 4th. D. Baxter falls back and then passes them both. Schilling wins with Spacek right behind him.

The Late Model feature there were only four cars in the show with #51 Chris Oertel on the poll and #23 Keane Laakson on the outside. #66 Ron Berna shots into first and shots way ahead ending up winning the race.
