Puff" races were run in each division. Powder Puff wins went to Michelle Winger in the Super Stocks, Jane Emling in the Street Stocks, Lindsey Zilke in the Midwest Modifieds, Jenny Hall in the 4-cylinders and Davis/Spiddle in the Two-Man Cruisers.

The WISSOTA portion of the racing program saw repeat feature winners prevail in all four divisions. Scott Duval had to battle his way through the field from the sixth row to score the win in his WISSOTA Modified. Adam Hensel once again had the car to beat in the Super Stocks and drove away from the field to wrap up the win as well as the Season Point Championship.

Street Stock Point Leader, Roger Walker also secured his Point Championship with a feature win. Shane Halopka started the night with a 16 point advantage and stretched it to 23 points after sweeping his Heat and Feature.

Halopka led from the pole in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified Feature while Joe Bablick used the bottom groove to get around Guy Carley for second. Halopka quickly pulled to a five car length lead over the second place car of Bablick. Carley ran in the third spot at the halfway mark, but had Jim Poyda, Randy Bargender and Dave Salzman close behind challenging for the position. A lap 13 caution set up a three lap sprint to the finish with Halopka in the lead ahead of
Bablick, Carley and Poyda. Halopka had a flawless restart and was able to again build a three car length lead as he took the checkered flag. Bablick fought his way into the second position early on but wasn't able to make a move for the lead and settled for the runner-up spot. Carley had an impressive run in his first appearance at the track this season finishing
third. Salzman got by Poyda late in the race for fourth after the two ran nose to tail for much of the event.

Scott Miller and Jared Loos led the field of WISSOTA Street Stocks to the green flag. Loos got a good jump at the start and took the lead while Roger Walker dove to the inside of Miller to secure second. Walker immediately closed the gap on Loos and put some heavy pressure on for the lead. Behind them, Miller, Todd Lindner and Steve Bangart battled over the third and fourth positions. Loos held the lead after a lap six caution, while Walker switched to the high side looking to make the pass. Walker got alongside Loos on lap seven and pulled out front and into the lead one lap later. Walker survived another restart on lap ten and held the lead for the remainder of the event for his ninth feature win of the season. Loos looked as if he had the car to beat in the early laps but had to settle for second after leading the first half of the
race. Miller had an impressive third place run after holding off the charge of Bangart in the closing laps. Cory Crapser had to maneuver his way from deep in the field to round out the top five.

Mike Duhr used a front row starting spot to take the early lead in the WISSOTA Super Stock Feature. Lance Leu quickly moved from the second row to challenge Duhr and take over the lead withh three laps in the books. Hensel was also able to get by Duhr and close in on Leu just as the only caution of the race flew on lap six. After the restart, Hensel dove his car deep into turn three and slid up into the lead coming out of turn four. Hensel immediately put several car
lengths between himself and Leu, while Jason Forehand had to fight to hold off Kelly Anderson who had already picked up five positions on the track.

Anderson was able to complete the pass on Forehand and several laps later got by Leu for second. However, Anderson didn't have enough time to close in on Hensel who had built up a straightaway lead as the laps wound down. Hensel had to maneuver through lap traffic late in the race, but did so with ease and took home the winner's purse. Anderson made a spectacular charge through the field to take runner-up honors. Forehand used a late race pass on Leu to finish third. Despite severe front suspension damage, Randy Spacek gained seven positions on his way to a fifth place finish.

The Main Event of the evening belonged to the WISSOTA Modifieds. Perhaps the biggest story coming into the evening was that Chris Oertel held only a single point advantage over Luke Schilling in the Championship standings. Oertel was able to add two more points to that from his heat and started the feature with a three point cushion over Schilling. Darrel Hazelton led from the pole until the caution flew on lap six. After the restart the second place car of Scott Duval
got a good run down low and snatched the lead. Duval then slowly pulled away while Hazelton received heavy pressure from Kent Baxter and Luke Schilling. Oertel came out on top of a three car battle for fifth with Jeff Spacek and Paul Knauf. Duval continued to build on his lead throughout the closing laps and scored the win and a clean sweep of Modified action. Hazelton came across the line in second ahead of Kent Baxter. Luke Schilling finished fourth ahead of Oertel, but it
wouldn't be enough to take the points Championship which left with Oertel.

The final race of the evening belonged to the Two-Man Cruiser division. Ron/John Kunninger drew the coveted pole position for the race and led from the opening lap all the way to the checkered flag. Porter/Smazal quickly made their way through the field into second, but couldn't run down the leaders and had to settle for a runner-up finish. Davis/Fitzgerald rebounded from a spin early in the race to finish third.

Racing action resumes at Monster Hall Raceway on Friday August, 27th with Season Championship races in all five divisions with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30.

Don't forget to join us on September 10th and 11th for the Monster Mash Invitational with increased payouts in each division.
