May 27, 2005; Unity, WI. - At Monster
Hall Raceway, the weather threatened the third event of the season, but it didnt
rain on the parade. Many other tracks were rained out, which led to many new drivers
showing up to take part in the impressive field of cars at Monster Hall Raceway.
As the night got started, the fans at Monster Hall Raceway were
treated to one of the most beautiful rainbows seen for quite sometime. The fans also
enjoyed the most competitive racing of the season.
In the WISSOTA Modified feature, first time appearances were made by
Harelstadt, Arpin, Keyser, and Caine. But the night belonged to the Monster Hall Raceway
veteran Jed Moore. Moore powered around Keyser after following behind Keyser much of the
race. The race didnt end without drama.
Before Moore took the white flag, indicating one lap to go, caution
happened back in the field that set up a green, white, checkered finish. Not realizing the
race wasnt complete at the time of the caution; Keyser pulled off the track to the
weigh- in scale only to be told of the situation. Moore led the field to finish line,
followed by Keyser and Caine coming in third. Baxter held on for fourth place over the
hard charging Harelstadt who had a good run from starting near the back of the feature.
In the twenty lap WISSOTA Super Stock feature Brian Nayes and Randy Spacek
started on the front row where they battled for most of the race. After a mix up in corner
two, the field was bunched together for the restart. Adams took the high groove and made
his way around the cars ahead of him. Adams cleverly moved from fourth place right up to
first in just one lap to get the feature win in the WISSOTA Super Stock event. Adams also
claimed the top honors in the Midwest Mod event, by pulling away easily from the fourteen
car field.
It wasnt such a good night for the young newcomer Ryan Olson from
Chippewa Falls in the WISSOTA Pure Stock event. Olson started the feature at the back but
eventually made his way to the front in an impressive fashion. With only one lap to go,
Olson had a right rear tire go down causing his car to spin out and roll high up into the
air and landing on his rooftop. Olson did walk away without injury, but did not get his
feature win. That was awarded to Lindner after the track officials renewed the last lap
caution. It was determined that Lindner did receive the white flag before the caution flag
was waived.
Roger Walker of Phillips methodically made his way around the track
throughout the feature of the Street Stock division. Walker picked up the win with Cory
Crasper coming in second and Linder third.
Racing action will continue next Friday June 3rd at Monster Hall Raceway. The heat races
start at 7:30pm. Admission is $10.00, under 12 FREE with guardian. Bring the whole family
for $25.00.
