Submitted by: Chris Bunkelman

June 17, 2005; Unity, WI. -  The racing season is almost halfway through and the action is heating up.  Monster Hall Raceway added a couple more new feature winners of the season. If you were a first timer at Monster Hall Raceway on
Friday, you probably came to the same conclusion I did.

Nate Hauge (#10) topped the Pure Stock feature event again this week.

Scott Duvall in the yellow #17 WISSOTA Modified really has it hooked up at Monster Hall Raceway.  Duvall had the most dominant performance of any feature winner of the night.  Duvall jumped to the high grove and used the cushion to get to the front where he checked out on the field.   While Duvall was running away with the WISSOTA Modified feature, Paul Niznik, Jed Moore, Schilling, and Jeff Spacek provided excitement for second place.  Then the cautions started to come, bringing Duvall back to the rest of the field for the restart. But once again Duvall was too powerful, holding off Schilling and Spacek for another WISSOTA Modified Feature win at Monster Hall Racway.

The other feature events of the night at Monster Hall Raceway played out much of the same as the WISSOTA Modified feature did.  The driver who got the early lead, kept it.

Shane Halopka proved it in the WISSOTA Midwest Mod feature.  Halopka checked out on the field mid-race on his way to claim another feature win when the caution flag flew, setting up a two-lap shoot out.  Behind Halopka, Jim Poyda, Frank Soncek, and Paul Clark all wanted to steal the feature from Halopka.  Halopka had no part in letting go of the win, as he held on for the feature win in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods. In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, Rugg Lindner raced for his first feature win at Monster Hall Raceway.  Lindner was followed across the finish line by Roger Walker, Cory Crasper, Chris Crasper and Jared Lindner.

The WISSOTA Pure Stock feature came down to Nate Hauge and Justin Lindner.   Hauge took the lead midway, but Lindner wasn't going away.  The two drivers battled to the last lap with Hauge taking the checkered flag.

Paul Erickson, in the WISSOTA Super Stock feature event, held true to the theme of the night.  Erickson started on the pole and never relinquished the lead.   The feature seemed to come down to a survival of the fittest.  The first caution came out when Randy Spacek hit the wall in the backstretch, sending Spacek to the back of the restart.  Second caution of the night involved the points leader at Monster Hall Raceway Jim Willner.

Willner and Schwantes got tangled up and both cars were done for the night.  The restart after the second caution also brought out the third caution. Erickson was bringing the field around corner four when Mark Stender stuck the nose of his car a little too much into the left rear of Erickson.   Erickson was turned around along with most of the leaders. Erickson was awarded back the lead followed by Terry Gorst and John Feirn.  Erickson kept his car down low consistently all night, which eventually led to his first feature win of the season.

Next week at Monster Hall Raceway  is the Mid-Season Championships.  The points are very close in most
divisions heading into this Friday.  The racing action starts at 7:30 PM on   Friday, June 24th .  Hot laps start at 6:30 PM.
