The IMCA modifieds took the track first for their feature with Dennis Young leading the way until dropping off the pace turning the lead over to Ryan Schmidt for the next 2 laps. A caution on lap 4 bunched the field and on the green Brad Rohloff started looking for an opening and finally pulled into the top spot on lap five. R.M. Van Pay was working from the rear of the field and pulled into the runner up spot and then the lead following a caution on lap 7.

Once in front, Van Pay started to pull away from the field leaving the run for second. Rohloff, Mike Klenz, Mike Mashl, Scott and Brian Mullen ran together lap after lap. The pack got one last shot at the leader when a late race caution appeared on lap 18 for debris. On the track and bunched the field right behind Van Pay. Under green, Van Pay was able to hold off all challenges and picked up his 3rd straight and 4th feature of the season. Klenz took his best finish of the season here with Rohloff casting in the third spot. Scoff Mullen edged brother, Brian for fourth place, with Mashl rounding out the top six.

First career feature win!  Shannon Smith (#30) drove a perfect race and won his first career Street Stock feature on the third-mile clay Tri-Oval here Sunday evening. 8899a.jpg (13713 bytes)

The Street Stocks were next with John Hiles leading the way for the opening 2 circuits before Shannon Smith pulled into the top spot and began to pull away from the pack, Smith continued to pull away as the pack behind tried to sort out. A couple of cautions on lap 14 set up a 6 lap dash to the finish. Smith again held the top spot but point leader, Jason Czarapata had worked from the rear of the field into second with Jesse and Jamie Colwell and Charlie and Chas Van Ooyen all tight together. Smith was able to hold off Czarapata and collect his first career feature win with Czarapata holding on for the runner up finish. Jamie and Jesse Colwell, Chas Van Ooyen and John Belschner round out the top six.

Terry Casey grabbed onto the lead at the start of the WISSOTA Late Model main with Tom Naeyaert, Pete Parker and Troy Springborn right behind. The top three put on quite a show for the fans with Casey holding on to the top spot through lap 13. Parker made his move on the leader out of the tri-oval on tap 13 and settled into the top spot. Naeyaert tried to shake Casey out of his line but had to settle for the runner up finish. Springborn settled into the fourth as Tim Buhler and Doug Blashe round out the top finishers.

The IMCA Stock Car main took the green with five week racing rookie, Benji LaCrosse taking the lead with Dave Peiterson, Troy Wilcox, John Heinz and Tony Bouche behind. Pat Davister moved into the runner up spot on lap 4, and after a couple laps pulled even with the leader. LaCrosse was running the high line and Davister was holding inside LaCrosse ran steady to maintain the lead while the battle behind heated up.

Heinz, Davister and Rod Snellenberger hounded the leader but could not force an error. On lap 17, the lone caution of the race appeared for a stalled car. On the restart, LaCrosse was still leading the way but a mix up out of the tn oval got Heinz sideways and dug into the track causing his car to roll over several time before landing on the wheels. He was not injured but out of the race and LaCrosse was sent to the back for causing the incident.

Davister was the new leader, but on the restart, Snellenberger quickly powered into the top spot and never looked back picking up his 6th feature of the season. Davister held on to place second with Peiterson third, Tony Bouche fourth and Dave Bouche took the fifth place finish over point leader, Joe White.
