Taking the point lead! Jerry Wilinski (#9) did some hard racing and took advantage of some bad luck by fellow competitiors Joe White and Rod Snellenberger toclimb atop the IMCA Stock Car standings. Wilinski won the feature race while both White and Snellenberger would fall by the wayside due to mechanical ills. |
The IMCA Stock Car main took to the track first with the top three drivers only 3 points apart and point leader, Joe White starting from the rear after qualifying through the consy.
Troy Wilcox took charge at the start and led through lap 7 when Jerry Wilinski took charge. Bob Bemmels, Rod Snellenberger and Larry Karcz, Jr also moved up before a spin slowed the pace on lap 10.
Snellenberger moved into the runner up spot on lap 13 and started hounding Wilinski for the top spot. The pair pulled ahead as the heated battle continued, but Snellenberger's machine started to smoke and 3 laps later was sent off the track turning the second place over to Karcz. Tim Van De Hei and Bemmels bunched up for the final four laps with Wilinski claiming his first feature win of the season and in doing so re-took the point lead after White dropped out early with engine problems and Snellenbergers early exit. Karcz took second followed by Van De Hei and Bemmels. Shawn Wagner took fifth and Tom Coel rounded out the top six.
| Worth the wait! Dennis Young (#28) was all smiles in the winners circle after a hard fought IMCA Modified feature win. Young fended off the challenges of Mike Mashl and beat R.M. Van Pay to the line to score his first victory since August 20, 1995! | ![]() |
Mike Broeckman paced the opening lap of the IMCA Modified main before Dennis Young swept by and started to pull away from he pack. Joel Schmit, Mike Mashl and Luke Roffers bunched behind until point leader, Brian Mullen stalled in turn two on lap 7, bringing out the caution and sending him to the pit. On the restart, Young again took control but Mashl moved into the runner up spot with Scott Mullen moving into third.
Mashl got crossed up on lap 15 which allowed Mullen to get ahead with Schmit and R.M. Van Pay also slipping by. The final 4 laps were tight as Young held off the four chargers to claim his first feature win at the Tri-Oval since August 20, 1995. Van Pay hooked up on the outside and swept into the runner up spot on the final lap with Mullen taking third place, Schmit fourth, Mashl stayed in fifth and Brad Rohloff was sixth.
Despite his early exit, Brian Mullen had his point lead slip form 17 marks to 6 over Mashl Scott Mullen, Van Pay and Rohloff fill in the top five with only 2 points separating them.

Then he was first! Darren Otto (#27) had been running in third place in the closing laps of the Street Stock feature when Jason Czarapata and Jared Siefert tangled while running for the lead. Otto would take command and score his first win since August 24th, 1997. |
Tom White took the lead from the pole in the Street Stock main followed by Joe Van Ooyen, Marc Marcille, Darren Otto and Josh Wirtz. On the second lap, a huge seven car pile up on the outside of turn 2 stopped the race. There were no injuries but several cars were forced out of the race.
With the green out again, White continued to set the pace until point leader, Jason Czarapata, powered into the lead. White was in the pit a lap later when the car erupted in smoke off the back chute allowing Otto,Travis Van Straten and Jared Siefert to get by. A caution on lap 9 bunched the entire field and when the green appeared, Siefert took to the outside and pulled into the lead by Czarapata. Czarapata stayed right behind and the pair pulled away in a fierce battle for the top spot. With four laps left, Czarapata hooked up on the outside and used the same move to pull alongside Siefert for the lead.
On lap 17, as the pair was coming through the Tri oval, contact was made and both spun around. They were far enough ahead of the pack to correct themselves with Siefert staying in the lead and Czarapata coming into line in fifth. However, on the next lap, Siefert was sent to the pit for the contact which turned the lead over to Otto, Brandon Czarapata had worked through the field from the rear of the pack and was in second with Marcille in third. Otto won his first division feature since August 24, 1997 with Jason Czarapata clawing his way back to finish second and build on his point lead. Brandon Czarapata was third with Marcille taking his best career finish here in fourth. Shannon Smith took fifth with Jamie Colwell rounding out the top six.
| Tim Bennett (#4) found his way to the winners circle for the first time at Seymour Tri-Oval taking a win in the WISSOTA Late Model heat race. | ![]() |
Attrition was high over the first 5 taps of the WISSOTA Late Model nightcap with Tom Naeyaert, Tim Buhler, Gordie Seegert and Brian Younger all out with mechanical problems. Pete Parker took over the lead from Doug Blashe after a lap 5 restart and never looked back running to his second straight and third feature win of the season. Point leader, Troy Springborn, was able to extent his lead to 11 points over Buhler with his second place finish. Blashe and Tim Miller battled for third with Blashe getting the nod. Rookie Doug Klemp took fifth with Tim Bennett rounding out the top six.
