| Defending WISSOTA Late Model champion Troy Springborn got off to a fast start in 2000 winning the main event on opening night at Seymour! |
The WISSOTA Late Models took to the track first with defending champion, Troy Springborn sitting on the pole, by luck of the draw. Springborn powered into the top spot at the drop of the green and started to pull away from the rest of the field. Pete Parker dropped in behind on the second lap followed by Terry Casey, Terry Anvelink, Dean Maurer and M J. McBride. Springborn built and was maintaining a 6 length lead over Parker when a caution bunched the field on lap 13. For several laps before the caution, Tom Naeyaert was making a strong move to the front, moving into fourth and closed the gap on Anvelink.
On the restart, Springborn was able to hold a couple length lead to the finish to pick up his first win of the season here. Parker settled for the runner up finish, with Anvelink third, Naeyaert fourth, Tim Buhler and Casey rounding out the top six.
A field of 20 cars made up the field for the IMCA Stock Car main, with John Heinz jumping into the top spot followed by Tim Van De Hei, Rod Snellenberger, T.J. White and Larry Karcz, Jr. The top four started to pull away from the pack when the first caution appeared on lap 8. A couple more slow downs led to lap 14, when the green appeared for the final time. Heinz was still leading the way and Snellenberger was able to work by Van De Hei for the runner up spot. Snellenberger moved up behind the leader, but was not able to challenge for the lead as the laps were ticked off. Heinz won his second grand opening program of the weekend with Snellenberger, Van De Hei, Karcz, Jr, Brandon Czarapata and White in the top six.

| Another champ wins! Mike Mashl (#05) scored a victory in IMCA Modified feature action. Mashl is the defending class champ. |
Defending IMCA Modified champion, Mike Mashl, got the lucky number 1 starting spot in the draw, and quickly pulled into the top spot at the start Brian Mullen moved into the runner up spot on lap 3. R.M. Van Pay, Travis Spaulding, and Dan Deau, were right behind. Several quick cautions over the next five laps kept the pack bunched. After a two car spin on lap 15, Mashl was still leading the way with Mullen, Van Pay, Todd Dart and Dan Deau right behind. Mullen kept the pressure on the leader as the laps were clicked off. Mullen ran out of laps to mount the serious charge and followed Mashl to his first feature win of the season. Van Pay took the third place finish with Brad Rohloff coming throughout he middle of the field to finish fourth. Dan Deau and Jamie Schmidt rounded out the top six.
Fred Davister drew number one and took charge of the Street Stock feature at the start Marc Marcille, David Hoerning, Charlie Van Ooyen and Bob Bernier were right behind.
