Racing resumes next Sunday at Seymour Tri-Oval!

July 16, 2000; Seymour, WI - After a week off because of the county fair, racing action returns this Sunday night, July 23, to the Seymour Tri-Oval Raceway.

The IMCA Modified, WISSOTA Late Model, Street Stock and IMCA Stock Car divisions will once again tackle the unique Tri Oval for the second half of the season.

Brian Mullen is the current point leader in the Modified division with a 314 - 299 edge over R.M. Van Pay. Mullen has run off a string of four straight feature wins to tie a club record for the division with Dave Ritchie in 1985 and Randy Boegh in 1984 as the only drivers to win four straight.

Van Pay has 2 feature wins to his credit so far this season and has an all time total of 49 here at Seymour. Brad Rohloff is also a feature winner this season and sits third in points with 272. Travis Spaulding and Scott Mullen round out the top five in points with 270 and 255 respectively. Both are looking for their first feature wins this season.

Defending Late Model champion, Troy Springborn has led the way throughout the current season and sits with 420 marks over Terry Anvelink with 415. Springborn has two features to his credit this year while Anvelink won the last time out here with his first win in two years. Former three time champion, Tom Naeyaert, has one feature win so far and is third in points with 404. Tim Buhler has collected a feature win this season and is fourth in the standings with 399 and Terry Casey rounds out the top 5 with 297.

Jamie Colwell has sprinkled three feature wins throughout the season into the point lead with 296 points over second place, Chaz Van Ooyen with 287. Van Ooyen won his first career Tri Oval feature a couple weeks ago and has been strong all season. Bob Bernier and Dean Kellner are tied for third place with 258. While neither has won a feature, both are contenders every week. Jesse Colwell has one feature to his credit and is fourth with 255. Travis Van Straten also has a feature win this season and is a close fifth with 252.

Tim Van De Hei has run off two straight IMCA Stock Car feature wins in strong fashion and has three so far this season to lead the standings with 298 marks. John Heinz is also a three time feature winner this season and is second with 287 Jerry Wilinski is third with 276 and Benji LaCrosse has run to one feature and is fourth with 271, Rod Snellenberger and Larry Karcz, Jr are tied for fifth place with 259

Marozek Excavating is the sponsor to kick off the second half of the season this week. All four division run every week with racing starting at 6:30 every Sunday night.

The IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks and IMCA Stock Cars will each have a special Spotlight night during the remaining weekly season.

The big event, the 4th Annual Buclwelser Nationals, wfil close out the 2000 season on Saturday night, September 23rd with racing starting at 5pm.

Sunday, September 24th is the scheduled rain date if needed.
