N.E.W. Dirt sets 2000 Season Opening Date!

January 12, 2000; Seymour, WI - N.E.W. DIRT has set their 2000 season opener for Sunday night, April 30th, at the unique 1/3 mile clay tri-oval located at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds in Seymour.

The weekly schedule will again feature four divisions including the IMCA Modifieds, WISSOTA Late Models, Street Stocks and IMCA Stock Cars.

The season will be interrupted once, when no race is held dudng the County Fair week on July 16th. Racing will continue through Labor Day, September 3rd.

The 4th annual Budweiser Nationals is penned in for Saturday night, September 23rd with the following night, September 24th as a rain date.

At the monthly January meeting, the club also filled in their slate of officers for the upcoming season. Steve Van Pay officially took over as club President following the resignation of Bernie Baye. Bob Zegers was elected as Vice President. Lynn Zegers was nominated and elected to fill in the Treasurers term opened when Karen Baye resigns, effective February 11th. Yvonne Penske is the club Secretary.

The IMCA Stock Car division named Al Umentum as their divisions rep for the 2000 season. The Late Model division has yet to finalize their rules and rep for 2000.

The club holds monthly meetings on the first Monday of every month at 8 pm at the Edgewood Supper Club, 1 mile south of Seymour on HWY C.
