May 5, 2001; Seymour, WI - The recent heavy rains, over 3 inched in the past three days, forced N.E.W. DIRT officials to postpone their 2001 season opener, scheduled for this Sunday May 6, at the Seymour Tri Oval Raceway The opener will be moved back one week, to May 13. Crews have worked endlessly for the past two weeks to wrestle the new clay into shape. Everything was set until the rains soaked everything again. Track officials will try again next Sunday night, May 13 for Potawatomi Nation Night at the races.. WISSOTA late models, IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars and street stocks will do battle. Racing begins at 6:30 p.m. Seymour Tri-Oval is located on highway 55 at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds in Seymour. For more information call the track phone at 920 833 7726 or 920 494 5884.
