Seymour Tri-Oval to open this weekend!
By Dave Panske

April 29, 2001; Seymour, WI -  Dirt is on track for their 17th season opener set for this Sunday, May 6. The warm, breezy weather has finally enable track crews to attack the new clay surface and wrestle it into shape.

Four divisions are scheduled to take to the track this week led by the IMCA Modifieds. Brian Mullen has won the past two division crowns and has already picked up two feature wins in the area this season. He should be set to claim a third straight and record fifth championship to his resume.

The WISSOTA Late Models will return with Troy Springborn coming back as the divisions two time champ. He has also claimed a couple feature wins this season and looks to repeat at the Tri Oval as well.

The Street Stock division will be looking for a new champion in 2001 with defending title holder, Chaz Van Ooyen, moving up to the IMCA Stock Car division this season at Seymour.

The IMCA Stock Car division gave some of the best racing in the area last season, and early indications look for more of the same this year. Tim Van De Hei won his first career division title and is strong again in the early season competition.

Pit gate open at 4 PM and the grandstand at 5 PM on race days. Drivers that have NOT yet purchased their 2001 memberships are urged to get their early to avoid delays.

The racing program will start at 6:30.

The Seymour Tri Oval Raceway is located at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds on Main street in Seymour.
