Chris Lange #21) won his first career checker at Seymour Tri-Oval, taking his heat race in the Street Stocks.

The IMCA mods took the track first with M.J. Hintz setting the pace to the first and only caution on lap 3. The green was displayed for the distance after the restart, with Hintz holding the top spot for 2 more circuits before Jay Schraufnagel slipped inside to take over the lead on lap 6. Once in front, Schraufnagel, the hottest driver in the area right now, set out to hide from the rest of the field.

R.M. Van Pay followed Schraufnagel to take second with point leader, Brian Mullen, moving into third on lap 8. The trio pulled away but positions remained unchanged to the finish. The battle behind the leaders was the focal point with Hintz, Jared Siefert, Dennis Young, Travis Spaulding, and Mike Wedelstadt ran together.

Schraufnagel took his fourth division feature win of the season with Van Pay and Mullen behind. Hintz held on for fourth with Siefert and Spaulding rounding out the top six.

Dean Maurer set the pace for the WISSOTA Late Model feature for 2 laps before Terry Anvelink took over the top spot. Anvelink was able to build a lead as the rest of the field sorted out behind, and the point leaders, had to work from deep in the pack. Randy Markwardt and A.J. Diemel were next in line with Tom Naeyaert running in fourth.

Diemel spun in turn two on lap 14 , brining out the lone caution of the race and bunched the field on Anvelink. Anvelink maintained the lead to win his second division feature of the season. Markwardt held off Naeyaert for his best finish of the year in second. Naeyaert took third. Dan Gracyalny won a tight battle for fourth with point leader Troy Springborn fifth and Terry Casey sixth.

The IMCA Stock Car feature was scrambled with 2 cautions in the first five laps before the field settled down and completed their run . Chaz Van Ooyen led the first 3 laps before problems forced him out of the contest. Rod Snellenberger took charge with Jerry Wilinski, Shawn Kilgore, Jeremy Christians, Brandon Czarapata, Larry Karcz, Jr and Benji LaCrosse behind. After the final restart, Christians started to move to the front and on lap 14, was able to overtake Snellenberger for the lead. Christians, the defending division champ, was able to power away from the pack to record his first feature win of the season. The battle for the rest of the top places was very tight to the finish. Snellenberger, Kilgore, John Heinz, coming from the back after a first lap incident, Wilinski, LaCrosse and Czarapata swapped spots to the finish.

Snellenberger took the runner up spot with Heinz slipping by Kilgore on the final lap for third. LaCrosse took fifth and Wilinski rounded out the top six,

Chris Lange led the opening lap of the Street Stock main with Brian Koch taking his turn leading until lap 5, when Tom White took a turn at the front. The lead pack was bunched for several laps with Rick Naparalla, Darren Otto, David Hoerning and Jamie Van Ooyen behind. Naparalla became the fourth different leader on lap 8 with a strong outside move. A 2 car spin brought out the caution on lap 9 and Naparalla continued to set the pace after the restart. Darren Otto pulled into the lead on lap 12 with a final caution appearing on lap 14. Otto held the lead to the finish for his second feature victory of the year. White crossed the line in second with Jeff Treml, Lance Arneson, Keith Kickbush and point leader, Jeremy Wiitala rounding out the top six.

The 4 Bangers closed the show with 24 cars taking the green. A rollover spiced the race early when Nathan Register rolled over in turn two, but, was able to drive away to rejoin the contest. Jay Czarapata led for 9 laps before Marty Vande Hey took over and drove off with his second feature win of the year. Czarapata settled for second with Steve Schaumberg taking third.

Just a reminder. There will be NO racing in Seymour, this Sunday, July 14, because of the County Fair. Racing will resume on Sunday night, July 21.
