Showers Strike Again at Seymour Tri-Oval!
By Dave Panske

August 11, 2002; Seymour, WI - The pattern for the whole season has been about the same. Nice weather throughout the day, and clouds and rain by 4 PM on Sundays. That did not change this week, as a rain shower hit the track at 3 PM and heavy storms in and around the area left some heavy damage as well.

With that and the threat of more storms later, N.E.W. DIRT Officials pulled the plug on the Sunday night racing program at the Seymour Tri Oval Raceway at 4:35.

A full 5 division program will return next Sunday night, August 18th. Racing begins at 6:30 every week.

Three weeks now remain on the 2002 schedule. The 18th and the 24th will be the final point nights for all divisions. On Sunday night, September 1st, Miller Lite will present the 6th Annual National Shootout. This race has closed the season for N.E.W. DIRT in the past and has always brought the largest field of cars for the season along with the largest purse. All divisions will be in action. This is the only race during the season to carry a rain date. If Sunday should be rained out, the entire program will be run on Labor Day Monday, September 2nd.
