May 12, 2002; Seymour, WI - Persistent rain showers all day Sunday forced the cancellation of the Potowatomi Bingo night of racing at Seymour Tri-Oval Raceway on May 12. The Potowatomi Bingo night will be rescheduled in the near future. Next Sunday night, May 19 will feature the WIXX- Springborn 101. Three time WISSOTA late model track champion and 2001 Wisconsin state late model champion Troy Springborn will have his race car on display behind the grandstand beginning at 5 p.m. The second-generation Shawano speedster will also be signing autographs and handing out racing cards to kids. Highlighting the evening will be several big giveaways. The prizes include: A Wisconsin Dells vacation prize package, including a two night stay at the Rodeway Inn, free passes to Noah's Ark Waterpark, tickets to see country music star Lorrie Morgan and lengendary comedian Bill Cosby at the Grand Music Theatre located at the Dells and a fall weekend getaway to the Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort in the Dells. Other giveaways include a whirlpool suite two night stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Shawano, a pair of kids bicycles and several pairs of Ralph Lauren sunglasses. "The best part of this is race fans do not have to purchase any additional tickets for this giveaway," said event organizer Bill Plucker of Scott Construction, Springborn's title sponsor. "We'll do the drawing right off of the regular admission ticket stubs." Fans can listen this week to WIXX 101.1 FM all week for their chance to win free tickets to this event. A full night of racing is on tap for the 19th, including WISSOTA late models, IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars, street stocks and four-bangers. Racing action gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at the third-mile, clay tri-oval. For more information on the WIXX-Springborn 101 you can check out Springborn's website www.tspringborn.com.
